The aim of the project is to design a structural façade that corresponds with both exterior and interior conditions. Being a fashion school, the louvers are based on an abstraction of the female body or torso. There are two main sizes of the geometry, one being a column and the other being a louver. To create a sense of texture and pattern, some louvers are designed as frames, and others are completely covered. The brief is to design a fashion school on Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. The project allows for natural lighting while still being protected from the intense heat of the region. This is achieved by the Façade design where some louvers are a frame, or a “skeleton” and others are solid. These louvers were
strategically placed on each façade based on the orientation in correspondence to sun- rays intensity.
